North Simcoe Harvest Tour in Simcoe County 19th Year

Sample the hospitality, craftsmanship and artistry of the northern Simcoe County area. Starting in the village of Wyebridge and extending north to Midland

The popular Harvest Tour, now in its nineteenth year, is a great way to sample the hospitality, craftsmanship and artistry of the northern Simcoe County area.

On the weekend of  October 25, 26  2008 starting in the village of Wyebridge drive north to Midland. The Harvest Tour includes sixteen specialty retail outlets offering unique demonstrations by artists and artisans.  Visitors will sample gourmet treats and browse through fine collections of distinctive gifts, designer fashions, home decor, pine, oak and twig furniture, delectable chocolates--and so much more. 

Carriage House Gallery, Midland OntarioNew spots on the tour in Midland are:  The Carriage House Gallery, which will be featuring artisit and award-winning fashion designer Anne Thompson; Homecoming, where you will meet witty painter and photographer Barbara Rowlandson; Cashmere Blue, with guest artist Lisa Harpell who carves large sculptures out of alabaster, marble and soapstone; Blair Interiors, where owner/artist Cynthia Blair will display her floral and landscape oil paintings; Graffiti Art, with featured artist Ruth Hurdle who has been restoring the murals of Midland. Also in Midland, visit Simply Country with Lu Robitaille, landscape painter; The Lighthouse Store, with Bill Smith, author of "Midland on Georgian Bay", The Rub of the Green with Daniel Harris, woodworker and The Elegant Gourmet with Sue and Glen Canning, chocolatiers.

In Wyebridge, new on the Harvest Tour is Tory's Treasures where you will meet renowned wildlife artist Mad Michael's Tree Art Cafe, Wyebridge, ONMichael Pape. Enjoy Mad Michael's Twig Art Cafe with Michael White creating twig tree chairs, tables and trellises. And in Wyebridge, don't miss Grass Roots with Karla Crawford, Nashville recording artist and Rolf Staude, painter in oils. At Wyebridge Country Garden, the guest artist is Nicole  Somerton, displaying her beautiful pastel paintings.

Harvest Tour country is easy to reach from Barrie and Toronto via Highway 400 North to Highway 93 and from Orillia via Highway 12 West to Highway 93.
