The Heart of Historic
Huronia
Historic Huronia is one of the earliest
North American European inland settlements. First Nations sites go back
10,000 years, where significant artifacts are on display at the Huronia Museum and Ouendat Village throughout the year.
Communities of First
Nations peoples, Franco-Ontario culture, Métis, and British have lived
together for almost 400 since Samuel de Champlain arrived on the shores
of Georgian Bay in 1615. All cultures are represented with some of the
finest Ontario attractions,
interactive museums, old forts, First Nation people’s villages and annual festivals and events.
