Southern Georgian Bay Tourism Directions andTravel Information

DRIVING—Car, RV, Motorcycle

The major provincial highways 400, 12 and 93 lead directly to Southern Georgian Bay, Ontario. The map section will give you specific highway and suggested travel routes to the area.  For visitors seeking a leisurely drive, there are a number of back road trips through Simcoe County where they can explore the forests and trails, rural villages and towns.

BOATING--Cruise, Yacht, Sail, Canoe, or Kayak on Georgian Bay

Discover the clean, crystal clear waters that bring back boaters year after year to Ontario’s Sixth Great Lake---Georgian Bay.  In particular, Southern Georgian Bay is a boater’s paradise.  Welcoming communities provide excellent docking facilities, shopping, marinas, and lakeside dining and entertainment venues.

Via Trent-Severn Waterway from Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay

Discover the fresh waters of one of the most spectacular river and lake routes in the world and make Southern Georgian Bay your starting point, or your final destination.  Boaters can travel through a series of lift locks from Lake Ontario through the Ontario countryside exploring the Trent and Severn River systems to Georgian Bay.

Via Superior, Michigan, Huron Great Lakes and the North Channel to Georgian Bay

Boaters can explore the Great Lakes with Southern Georgian Bay as a final destination point.  Some of the most spectacular beaches, the 30,000 Islands Biosphere Reserve and exceptional hospitality have convinced many ardent boaters to make one of the many Southern Bay communities their “port of choice”.
